History
Lucas Whitehead (09) and Molly Zeins(09) in UT's Production of Urinetown
University Theater at the University of Chicago is the oldest running College Theater program in the country. Since it's inception in 1898 University Theater has been responsible for the production of over 3,000 productions ranging from mainstages in our two theater spaces to site specific productions in Hutchinson Quad.

Francis X. Kinahan Memorial Award
The Francis X. Kinahan Memorial Prize is presented to the graduating senior who has made the most significant contributions to University Theater

Theater and Performance Studies Award
The Theater and Performance Studies Award is presented to the graduating student concentrating in Theater and Performance Studies who has best demonstrated the integration of artistic and academic excellence.
Their B.A. project shows the farthest level of completion and development, while the candidate's work during their final undergraduate year shows the highest level of motivation and discipline.
In addition, their academic and theatrical production participation over their collegiate career demonstrates the highest level of artistic excellence and dedication.

The Olga and Paul Menn Foundation Award
The Olga and Paul Menn Foundation Prize is awarded for an original play of one or more acts. There is a first and second prize awarded.
