TLC Workshop
Join us on Friday, as we welcome Reggie Lawrence (one of the originators of Goodman Theatre's summer General Theater Studies program, and the Executive Director of MPAACT) for our FINAL Teaching Artist workshop of the quarter. If you are interested in working as a teaching artist with TLC this winter quarter, attending at least one workshop is a prerequisite, so here is your last chance to fulfill that requirement.
Reginald Lawrence is the Executive Director and a founding member of The Ma’at Production Association of Afrikan Centered Theatre (MPAACT). Practicing his craft under the name Shepsu Aakhu, he continues his commitment to the company as a playwright, scenic and sound designer, photographer, and musician. He has been the recipient of an Artistic Fellowship in Scriptworks by the Illinois Arts Council, the 16th annual Theodore Ward Prize for Playwrighting, as well as multiple awards from the Joseph Jefferson Committee and the BTAA. Working in Arts Education and Art integration since 1993, Reginald is currently a visiting professor at the Theatre School at DePaul University. Reginald specializes in two areas or instruction: Playwriting/Literacy; and Performance/Applied Sciences. He received his arts-education training from the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (C.A.P.E.) and the Erickson Institute of Child Development.
Email Jessica Hutchinson for more info and to RSVP. Event takes place in BARS.
