UT & TAPS Fall 2022 Events
TAPS Open House
Join faculty and staff for an introduction to student-driven campus arts opportunities, how to major or minor in the program and what to expect in the year ahead. During this informal presentation, you’ll learn more about TAPS and each of the student organizations on the Performing Arts Roundtable, including University Theater.
Come audition for Romeo & Juliet, Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood, and A Weekend of Workshops: The Intruder and Perfect Match! Those interested in auditioning should visit this page for more details.
Theater is a wild ride of a theater festival where students write, produce, direct, rehearse and perform short plays centered around a secret theme all in the span of 24 hours! Come see the culmination of their work, or go to this page for more info about participating!
Hosted by TAPS, Project Day is a quarterly event for the casts and crews of all the shows to meet each other, other performance RSOs, and TAPS staff. Feel free to come even if you are not on a show - it’s a great way to meet theater people and learn about the performance opportunities at UChicago!
Off-Off Campus Fall Season
Off-Off Campus is the nation’s oldest collegiate improv and sketch comedy group. Every Friday from 4th-8th week, Off-Off Campus will present a never-before-seen comedy show, never to be seen again!
A Weekend of Workshops
Join us for a weekend of workshops, featuring The Intruder by Maurice Maeterlinck and Perfect Match, an original musical by UT alum Allegra Hatem.
The Intruder is a short, eerie play which follows a family together awaiting the doctor to treat the Mother, only to instead be greeted by a more grim and mysterious guest. Perfect Match follows Brittany, a sorority girl who upon discovering her poor habits had caused her to develop liver disease, turns to some questionable methods (Tinder) to find her “perfect match.”
Romeo & Juliet
Romeo & Juliet is Shakespeare’s classic tale of love sprung from hate, reimagined within the confines of rival Catholic schools in the 1990s. A free preview will take place Thursday, November 10.
Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood
Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood is a very fun play about stealing from the rich and giving to the poor! A free preview will take place Thursday, November 17.
We will continue planning events throughout the quarter! The best way to stay up-to-date on events is to…..
